This month’s challenge for Shutter Nirvana is Shadows. For this shot, I dressed up my sister in my most gangsta looking hoodie, got her to give the camera some attitude and used some flashes to create directional lighting.

Yes I am playing catchup and yes I’m not wearing a jacket in this blowing snow. I would chalk it up to the fact that I’m truly canadian and I can withstand extreme conditions but that’s not really the case. I was prepared for a sunny day and this snowstorm rolled in late afternoon. Really I didn’t bring my coat with me.

Let me check the date again… It’s April 22, 2009 and it’s spring and what the heck, there’s snow on my car!! Only in Calgary… More snow is on the way for the rest of the week and weekend! On the bright side we’ve tied up the playoffs against the Chicago Hawks. Brilliant game. Go Flames!
