Day 109/365

Finally got around to taking that second shot of Braden like I wanted. I figured this was a perfect opportunity to test out my two flash system and I like the results. Braden likes the XBOX 360 like any other young male (me included) so I figured I’d capture him when things weren’t going so well for him in the game. Thanks Braden!

Strobist Info: Lumopro Flash CTO Gel behind subject, SB-600 shoot through soft umbrella off camera right.

Day 108/365

Met a friend for coffee today. He’s aspiring to publish a couple of novels, so I figured I’d take a widerature shot of him in his element.

Day 67/365

Today was a nice relaxing day. I didn’t get to do as much as I wanted. I did go and check out the new Watchmen movie, which I still don’t quite know what to say about. It was a good movie for it’s genre but as a whole, would I recommend anyone else seeing it? No, probably not. Anyhow, today is the day we switch our clocks one hour ahead so we “lose” an hour. I’m still trying to adjust to it. It was also incredibly cold as the shot shows. -17 degrees, but it felt like -28 degrees. I was going to get up in the morning to take sunrise shots but I just turned over in my bed as soon as I heard the temperature. Now I’m sipping on my coco and realizing it’s way too late to be still up.

Day 66/365

This whole week’s been busy busy. Richard had asked me to take a professional portrait shot of him. We went to his office and I started shooting, but I also started talking with him about his life and how he became a lawyer. There is a very profound and deep story behind this man’s life and at times I just couldn’t help but be sucked into the moment with him as he described his life. There were points where he would pause, and travel back a few years and he’d take me along for the ride. Great portrait session. Of course this isn’t the portrait that’ll be used but I haven’t gotten around to uploading those yet!
