Hello,
My name is Frank and I have been called a coconut so many times that I decided that it would be a great moniker to adopt. So, this is my third attempt at this website and what I want it to be and I think I’ve finally gotten it to a point where I am happy with it (I think). Right now, I’m just interested in being in the moment with my camera which seems to result in taking one photo a day every day for a year. You may have heard this being referred to as project 365 and rightly so. I personally call it Taking it One Day At A Time. I started doing this back in 2008 and someday I might get around to posting those older slideshows up.
My interests vary from photography to buddhism. Other “passions” of mine include bike commuting, swimming, hiking, cake eating, eating, and a strong fondness for stillness. That being said, welcome to my website and thank you for stopping by. Leave a comment or two (nothing rude or provocative unless of course you think I’m amazingly attractive then feel free to say whatever you’d like

Hi Frank, great pictures.
My question is about the pictures which were taken last year of the entrance to Anchordown Ranch.
I am trying to locate exactly which road this is on, so I can visit Anchordown Ranch (and the area) one day.
The ranch was owned by my Grandmother Pre WW2 (looking at the history the family must have purchased it in 1937). I have my Uncle’s Diary (also John Dewar) which records how he loved the area and wildlife.
Anyway in 1939 he enlisted in the RAF and was killed in 1941 and my grandmother died in an accident in 1942/43.
Anyway I have visited Canada myself but not Calgary (Edmonton the closest) since my Dad enlisted in the RCAF in 1941 serving from Ottawa through to PEI. (Then onto Europe with 402 squadron)
Many thanks and keep up the great photographs,
John Dewar
Hi John,
Thank you for the kind words on my photos. That’s a very interesting history and I hope the information below helps. The road is called cowboy trail/Highway 22 South and is located as left turn travelling along highway 22X west towards Bragg Creek. As you drive down the road, the ranch is located on the right hand side. Attached are some links regarding the ranch that you may have already seen. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.
