Moleskine

Time to crack open the new Moleskine and continue journalling. I’ve been at it since December of last year and I’m amazed I’ve actually completed a journal.

Still working with the theme “Reflection”

This is what masculine men do. My buddies and I wanted to see how we each maintained our legs and how much hair was on them. It was decided Keegan has the most well groomed legs.

Braden decided this week’s theme should be reflection. I decided to reflect on that.

I thought this was a bizzare shot. My friends were playing frisbee and I was doing a good job of being in the background. And then I somehow found myself in this position.

Taking a photo while biking.jpgTaking a Photo While Biking

With my new black rapids strap, I just let the camera dangle behind me while I bike and take random photos… 99% of them aren’t good. This was the best I got this day…

I had some friends over for a board game afternoon. We made heavily cheese laden nachos and also drank lots of Grizzly Paw Root Beer. The board game we played is Arabian Nights, which I would highly recommend!

Taking it One Day At A Time – July 2011

It feels good to be taking photos for the fun of it again. I had my hesitations about getting back into photography; especially after a 6 month break. To top it off, I figured I would do it in Frank style by giving myself more of a challenge than simply easing back into photography by shooting only with an iPhone 4 or the SLR with a 50mm f1.8 lens. I ended up using the iPhone rarely and I can honestly say I suck using it! My friends Tay and Braden are much more savvy with it than I am. You can view their stuff here Tay Flickr and here Braden Flickr.

I enjoyed using the 50mm f1.8 and it is an incredible lens. It really forces you to think hard for your shot. Personally I enjoy the flexibility my 18-200mm gives me, but I think I’ve been sold on prime lenses. I’d like to get an assortment of them and hopefully a full frame camera to go along with them!

So here are what I hope are 31 unique photos from the month of July. It was a month that was all over the map mainly due to the incredibly strange schedule that wedding planning forces you to have. As always, thanks for stopping by! You can view a slideshow of the month of July on my Taking it One Day At A Time – 2011 page.
